Bozeat is home to many stunning walking and cycling routes and popular with bird watchers. You’ll also find a convenience store selling local produce, Red Lion Public House serving a good range of food and ales, take away Indian restaurant and Stars Hair & Beauty Salon. All are within less than 5 minute walking distance from the property.
As the crow flies, Bozeat is just five minutes to Santa Pod Race Way in Poddington which is home to the FIA European drag racing championships plus 50 other motoring events. Country View House is the closest accommodation to the track, making it the first choice for over-night stops when attending racing events.
Bozeat is also ten minutes from Brafield on the Green Stockcar Racing.
Harrold & Odell Country Park is just a ten minute drive away with its 144 acres of award winning parkland, nature reserve, two lakes and café. A visit to near-by Castle Ashby Gardens is also well worth a visit featuring a 10,000 acre estate, 35 acres of extensive gardens, a menagerie, children’s play area and tea room. A mooch in the rural shopping yard is a must!
If water sports or fishing are your thing, Grendon Lakes is short drive away and well worth a visit.
Olney Market Town lies 4.9 miles away and is a great place to explore. Olney is packed with numerous independent boutiques and antiques shops. On a Thursday you will catch Olney’s weekly market with fabulous stalls selling a range of fruit, veg, coffee, olives, flowers, plants clothing and baked goods. Olney has a real café culture offering plenty of places to relax with a well-deserved cuppa. For dining out, you’re spoilt for choice from traditional pubs to independent Italian, Indian and Chinese restaurants. A historic visit to the Cowper & Newton museum is recommended.
A Short Drive Away
Bozeat is centrally located with almost equal distance to neighbouring main popular towns; Milton Keynes (15.6 miles) Bedford (14.1miles), Northampton (13.4 miles) Kettering (14.6 miles) and closest to Rushden (7.1 miles). This is what makes Country View House a great choice and unique, it’s conveniently positioned right on the edge of Beds, Northants and Bucks boarders giving you the opportunity to venture into any direction/county you wish.
Milton Keynes is truly a shopper’s paradise being home to one of the largest covered shopping centres in Europe – the centre:mk and intu Milton Keynes boasting over 400 high street shops! It also includes the Xscape complex which comprises of an indoor ski slope, sky dive, casino, restaurants, bars and a stone throw away is the modern MK Theatre.
Although Milton Keynes is a new city, it manages to effortlessly blend modern-day culture with deep-rooted history dating back to the WWII code braking Enigma machine in Bletchley Park – Home of the Codebreaker which now is a must see museum!
Close by in Bletchley is a newly opened retail park and home ground to the MK Dons FC which features an Odeon IMAX Cinema.
Younger guests will also love Gulliver’s Land, a unique children’s fun filled theme park.
We also recommend a visit to surrounding market towns Newport Pagnell, Stony Stratford and Woburn Abbey safari park and its grounds.
A day trip to Bedford is recommended for its picturesque Embankment – a beautiful pedestrian walk about a mile long along the bank of the River Ouse. With a wide selection of restaurants beside the river, Bedford is particularly well known for its Italian community and the traditional family restaurants which have sprung up as a result of this. Rugby fans will also be in the right place as it is local to Bedford Rugby Club Home Ground. Bedford is a market town with stalls continuously held in St Paul’s Market Square since the 16th century selling a range of consumer items and arts and crafts. Nestled just 31 miles away is the famous picturesque university town of Cambridge – definitely worth a punt down the river!
Northampton & Kettering
Many guests at Country View House enjoy visiting Northampton for its diverse range of pubs, nightclubs and restaurants. For those who like trying their luck, there’s a choice of three casinos. One of the biggest Rugby Cubs in the UK known as ‘The Saints’ is also home to the town of Northampton.
There’s a rich and varied history in Northampton which is home to a number of cultural gems including the Royal Derngate Theatre and the recent Errol Flynn film house. Both can be found in the town’s Cultural Quarter. With a varied array of shops and restaurants to suit all pallets, Northampton is also surrounded by a number of beautiful stately homes, including Althorp House held by the Spencer family and final resting place of Princess Diana. Northampton’s neighbouring town, Kettering, is home to Wicksteed Park – a fun filled 147 acre of beautiful countryside filled with rides and attractions for smaller children.
If the array of shops in Milton Keynes are not enough, the wait is now over for a brand new leisure and shopping complex called ‘Rushden Lakes’ which is now another option for guests staying at Country View House. The £140 million development will feature 43 well known shops and restaurants in beautiful lake side settings just off the a45 in Rushden, and a feature a 14 screen cinema. Major high street names are opening their doors over the coming weeks!
